I squealed at MB.
He did not squeal back.
Really? – he asked with that typical my wife is being overly hysterical scrunched up face.
Yes! – I answered – well maybe.
Maybe we’re having a baby? – responded MB growing ever weary – like you took a test you’re pregnant we’re having a baby?
Noooooo – I retorted – the I can just tell I have to be pregnant kind of baby.
Right – he said.
And that is the story of how we were not really having a baby.

The other night {and previous nights} I had a dream. I dreamt that I was out somewhere — I think at a party at someone’s house — and I was looking at my chin in the mirror. While looking, I realized I had this pretty disgusting looking pimple on my face and I started to squeeze at it. First a bunch of water ran out and then out pops this white and red little plug about the size of a penny that is about 4 inches thick. In the dream I run to my husband and show him the plug triumphantly — fully relieved that whatever this is off of my face.

Now that the wedding is over, it’s pretty easy to see my grappling for the brand new, exciting and fun. I want something to give me a little direction and focus and I want to avoid smothering my husband with good wifelyness in the process. I’ve waffled about what to do — start a new career, build a business, have a baby, buy a house. These are all very concrete, yet quasi nebulous tasks for this late 20something {eek!} to take on in an undetermined amount of time. This is why when I ran across the Day Zero Project, I decided that I would give it a shot. And I’m pretty pumped.
