The Tern Returns

So 14789204738 years ago I met Msheed at our old job.  I love that we both collectively have new and awesome jobs.  Which is beside the point.

One summer, at said old job, we got a summer intern that worked for my department.  Which meant she worked for everyone, because that’s just how we rolled at said old job.  I borrowed the phrase ‘Tudey ‘Tern from my good friend Anna {who managed interns at HER said old job} and when our summer ‘Tern ended up not being so ‘Tudey and just down right awesome, we shortened her nickname {and when I love you you get one forever} to the Tern.  And it stuck.

The Tern went on to work for our said old place of employment in BEUNOS FREAKING AIRES and after a brief stint {read 2.5 years} in Latin America handing out besos and felice all over Latin America the Tern has in fact returned to NOVA, and Msheeds and I were on hand, at Don Pablos no less, to welcome her with open arms.

Day Zero Project: Make A Couple Friend

I’ve alluded before to the fact that MB and I have successfully tricked the downstairs neighbors, S+J, into being our friends.  Now, is the time, I think to really inform you just how bff we are and give a little history on our bffness

Well, first, they love Mexican.  DING DING DING WINNERS!

Happy Birthday MOH

This week, my best friend, the MOH from my wedding as you may remember here, turned 27.

I love this girl so much its obscene.  Though we haven’t been able to spend many bdays together now that we’re legit grownups, I partied and sang and ate sweets all day for her <33  Love you!

First up was our bffffffff Msheed, who’s birthday spanned two days of celebration which started with tableside guac and ended with an old man doing a personalized rendition of 50 cent’s in the club just for our girl.

Reconnect

Over the course of my almost 30 year existence I’ve had the pleasure {and at times express displeasure} of meeting a lot of people.  Obviously, in the course of said existence, you fall out of step with some people.  Sometimes by choice, sometimes by chance, distance or otherwise.

Regardless of what happens {unless you are the victim or instigator of a restraining order} the best  part of disconnecting with friends, is of course, reconnecting.

My Mexican Obssesion

I love Mexican food.  Almost as much as much as I love Sanderson Images, my husband, my familia, Washington DC, my besties and Pittsburgh.  I often force to incorporate all the things I love.  LIke forcing my husband and besties to eat Mexican with us.  As was the case with Mr. and Mrs. B.

Of course, Msheed was there.

Triumphant Return

As you may or  may not know, I have two little sistas.  They are awesome.  They also are both within driving distance of me right now.  this is a huge colossal deal because for the past 2.75 years, Little A has been in JAPAN.  She returned last weekend and I have the photos and the mexican to prove it.

Internet BFF

I have this friend, Julie, whom I’ve actually never met in real life.  We’re not actually BFF.  I secretly dream about being her BFF but you know, that’s creepy.  {It IS TMI Thursday after all}

Julie is disgrunted, by admission, and for good reason.  She is a fifth year PhD student in biochem and oncology.  She lives here in DC, and her HUSBAND lives in PHILLY!  {ack!}.  Julie, however, is keepin’ it real, helping lahubs get outta med school debt and reps the city of champions like it’s her job {WPA -WHAT?!}.

On Mrs. Best Man

This weekend, like last year, Mr and Mrs Best Man will be on hand to celebrate a brand new  year with us.  We are pumped.  I was thinking the other day about how excited I was that they would be here and how the LNR of about 3-4 years ago would be shocked that such excitement existed over the impending visit.  Full disclosure:  Mrs Best Man and I have not always been BFF.
