Sniffles McGee

Normally when I get a cold or the flu, I can really kick it with some daytime medicine and I’m BETTER!  This past weekend, I spent the entire bday weekend SICK.  I had to cancel all our fun plans.

We did however spend lots of QT on our couch, watching The Office and playing with da pooch.

MB has not gotten sick yet.  Kanga on the other hand…

30 Days

As you may or may not know MB and I are traveling to sunny {hopefully} Florida  February 3-7 for some much needed R&R.

Ohh yes, and to see them as well.  So, 5 days in Florida + pool in the house we are staying in = BIKINI!!  eeeeeeeeeeeee!  Enter my knew frenemy.  Jillian.

Resolute

At at time when most of us are busy perfecting our New Year’s Resolutions, I take comfort in knowing that I don’t have one.  I actually have a list of  things, as you know, that I want to accomplish, and the only resolution I might be able to eek out is in regards to the list:  finish it.

I am however, very resolute about one thing.

10lbs and Why I Quit Weight Watchers

Loyal fans of W&B remember that Weight Watchers changed my life.  I lost 40 lbs on WW plus another 20 before joining for a grand total of 60 lbs.  And recently {as in last week} I cancelled my membership to WW.

I probably shouldn’t look this happy about it.

And I’ve gained 10 lbs since the day I got married.

Princess Miles: 5 of ‘EM

Recently I ran 5 whole Princess Miles.  In under 45 minutes!!  I’m so thrilled with myself.

However, last night I was in a WORLD of hurt.  Seriously, even my tush hurt.  So upsetting.  I was lamenting my aches and pains to Husband who reminded me that my body was just getting used to all these new exercises, and the new routine, which, I remembered is super outstanding.

Princess Miles: 4 — Uh Oh

Recently, I came back to my Princess Miles training with reckless abandon after giving myself 7 days off.  I strapped into my sneakers and was off for 4 miles, completing the circuit in 37:45.  Totally solid, though we’re not setting any personal records by any means.  This mini-triumph can and does only mean one thing.

Princess Miles: 3 & FAIL

Never ever buy something from WalMart and assume it to live up to any, even simple expectations. 

Yesterday I ran 3 Princess Miles on a new route that took me past the Hirshorn Museum.  I lurve LURVE DC in the fall and it was a gorgeous day for some Princess miles.  Unfort, the day before  had been an off day and my first PMs back are always rough, so my lungs were screaming and my legs were aching.  And my body was trying to react to this new route.

No matter!  I had my new WalMart gadget.

Princess Miles: 3+5

This weekend, while in Jtown, I ran the back half of the pretrain, the 3 and 5 Princess Miles.  Three miles around my neighborhood is no big deal. 1.5 down, 1.5 back.  Whatever.  What I totally disregarded is that there are som MONSTOROUS hills in la hometown del Wife and Blog and despite it being the dead of night when I ran, I was sweating like a not-so-pricess beast and my hammies were totally screaming.

Wolf Trap 5k

As part of my .5 marathon training, and to complete part of my Day Zero project, I’ve signed myself up for the Wolf Trap Foundation 5K for the arts!

Princess Miles: 4 or Day 4 of Pretrain

Before I set off on my Princess miles yesterday I took a gander at my schedule.  Apparently the pretrain is to last for FOUR TO FIVE WEEKS!  Couch to 5k claims that I should be on pretrain repeat for this long without much discomfort before starting the half marathon program.  If not I may risk injury.  WHATEVA I said.  I’m an A+ elite squad runner.

And then I went on my repeat 4 Princess mile run.  Holy MOSES.  My legs were screaming.
