About the time that Mardi Gras hits, I tend to want to make some improvements in my life. As of this year, however, it’s pretty obvious that I’m not doing it for Jesus. So I’m just doing it for me. The Catholics just give me a handy schematic to which I can orchestrate my changes. Lent that is.

If you’ve been following along this wildly disjointed exposition of LNRB’s religious ponderings you could have probably guessed where we’d end up, especially since we know I grew up Catholic, a version of Christianity. You’ve also suffered through how I have a belief in God but not of the Bible. And how each is important. And exclusive. The next step in telling you about my religious beliefs is to clear up what you probably know: I have a belief of Jesus, not a belief in him.

I mentioned in my last post about belief in God that to me there is a distinct difference between believing IN something and having a belief OF something. MBhubs claims this is confusing and I apologize. I understand that believing in something and having a belief ofsomething may sound the same to you, but unfort, I’m trapped by semantics. I hope my expounded feelings about the Bible clear some of this up as it is core to my belief system.
