Yesterday I ran the last of my 16 week pre train program. I was in eastern PA and despite the recent warm weather courtesy of global climate change friends it was colder than I could handle.
Therefore I came in a little short of my 45 minute target.

A little on my training program
Pre train: Xmas Eve
2012: The year of the marathon?
Mmm K. So when last we left off, I was doing ridiculous things like declaring New Media to be my version of being on a SEAL team and generally trying to quit blogging.
I want to be clear. I meant all of it.
Except maybe the blogging part.
Well the lady blogging part.
I’m back and I’m back with avenegence so I can start one of the most annoying forms of blogging in the WORLD: RUNNER BLOGGING.
Princess Miles: The Dreadmill
At this point in my training I should be running about 3-5 miles a day. No biggie, you think. That’s a girl who was running 7-12 miles just a few weeks ago.
Well my friends, I have news for you. My training went from the great outdoors of downtown Washington DC, to the great indoors of my office’s gym. You know what that means, don’t you?
Running is the Only Full Time Job I Like
The Worst $80 I Ever Spent
Last week, while having my nightly chat with my mama, I received this:
Oh! Apparently I signed myself up for a 10K and promptly forgot about it. Whoops!
Princess Miles: Cancelled
Now before you go getting your petticoats all bunched up let me be perfectly clear that we are not canceling the half marathon. Just the location. To whit:
Last week, in an effort to continue our revamped budgeting effort, I was meticulously going through our copious travel plans for 2010. One trip that we are both looking forward to is a visit to Nanny and PopPop C in February where they will be lounging in a vacation home in Florida very near Walt Disney World.
Princess Miles: And That My Friends is the Half
I have been, by all accounts, really sucking at my half marathon training. Last week I was in such a funk that the last thing I wanted to do was sweat. Actually, all I wanted to do was rush home and make dinner for my husband and pout. And that’s pretty much all I did.
Annnyhoodles, realizing that this is not the appropriate way to reach one’s goals, I strapped on my sneakers and went for a 5, 6 and 7 mile run recently.

I’m most excited for the 7 mile triumph because that is
-
more than half way through the half marathon
-
farther than I’ve run in over 5 years
-
done in one hour and seven minutes
This is all super compelling as I have a race coming up on Saturday and just signed up for my FIRST EVER 10k!!
Did you have any fitness break through this weekend? Or were/are you in a slump, too?
Wolf Trap 5K Results
As you all well know, I “ran” the Wolf Trap 5k on Saturday. I use the term run loosely as my time was a paltry 30:16 and when I finally crossed the finish line, I almost collapsed, but we’ll get to that.
Saturday morning at 7:15 am came really quick for HuzBand and I. As in MB was not at all prepared for it. But after me threatening to throw a hissy fit, we made it to North Western VA to Wolf Trap National Park, with plenty of time to spare.
