My birthday is so totally coming up. It’s kind of a not that big of a birthday, number-wise. It is a big birthday because it’s my first one on the east AND the west coast. In my mind, that means that I need to request a ridiculous amount of really expesnsive gifts. Now, if we please:
So, I have absolutely no reason to want the very expensive Lily Pulitzer dresses, Jcrew frock, the multiple thousand dollar Louis Vuitton, the bedroom furniture, or the over the knee boots and necklace from Anthropologie. But season 4-present of the Office, but I think someone could probably swing that.
For links to everything I need for my 28th year on Earth, visit me at Polyvore.
What are you looking forward to getting for yourself for no good reason in 2011?

There are lots of stories to tell you, like how I almost got in a fight with the airline we flew out on, like the whole airline, every single employee and the CEO, and the captains. Or how I sat in the San Jose International Airport and sobbed hysterically for an hour for absolutely no reason. Or how I just {like literally 2 hours ago} saw every available apartment in the Silicon Valley. And loved them all.
But that’s not what we’re here to talk about.
We’re here to talk about all the things that I want to buy.
I’m such a jerk.

I lurve the Fat Bridesmaid. She’s funny and insightful and I’ve enjoyed following her around the blogsphere. I checked in with her recently to read that she is giving up spending for Lent. I immediately decided we would copy her.

In October I posted three things that I really wanted and felt like I couldn’t live without. Magically, I received 2 out of the three things {more on this later, promise!} So I thought I would go for broke and try again!

- This adorable necklace with an M and a B engraved on the discs from vintage pearl.
- This beauty from elphantine
- And the Bailey Button boots!

Anything you are in want of recently?

Now that we’ve gotten ourself some shiny new insurance, MB and I are working hard to make sure that we are all doctored up before the new year rolls in. As such, I got some new glasses.

I like them very much. They are not that much different from my old specs

So we like?

My friends, as a general rule are very attractive. I’m just the kind of person that attracts attractive people. I just am. And so is my husband.
All narcissism aside, when you have attractive friends they tend to be pretty trendy and fabulous. Anna is one such friend. On the evening that we went to worship in the temple at the altar of our fashion Goddess, Anna, Anna {the one we know, and also worship} showed up in these

Adorable right?

Anna looks so cute in them! She has these glorious thin long legs that look outstanding in new booties. I secretly {or not so secretly, now} covet her ability to totally rock them!
What amazing fall trend do you secretly adore but cannot wear?

Half way there!
On a trip to the blood bank {more on that later} I was so freaking freezing that I forced MB into Ann Taylor loft {armed with my coupon from my last purchase} to try to find me something that fit, was on my list and not 100 million dollars. Found!

I love the military style, the coat weight {it’s heavy but not wool — so totally fall appropriate} the color is great {not black, not flashy} and the belt! Love!
Did you get a new fall jacket? What’s it look like?

I found this sweater dress in my closet this past weekend, completely neglecting all the while to remember that I had purchased it before I fell out of love with my current wardrobe. To wit!

My husband is a big time baller, sometimes. One great example is when, shortly after we were engaged, we were shopping with Jan and Paul in an art store in Old Town. I proclaimed I liked a very expensive picture frame and right then and there MB had the woman wrap it up. It was amazing.
This kind of throw down happens with MB. It’s like he has an innate sense of when I truly want something and when I just claim to want it for no good reason. He likes buying me more of the things that would fall in the gift category {things I would never buy myself}. That’s why when MB threw down and bought me my diamond anniversary gift recently, I hardly blinked.

As you recall, I went hog wild this weekend and tried to fluff up my wardrobe with some classic, timeless, essential pieces. This attempt was in a word, fail. I got a cold from my husband and was in a general bad mood this weekend. We went to Macy’s with my shopping pass as well as DSW, Target and Marshalls. While I found things I liked everywhere nothing was speaking to me or my wallet. Rather than give you all the gore — I will give you what I actually successfully found. Essential # 4 a slouchy sweater.
