In 1 hour and 15 minutes we’ll be in a cab on our way to London. After much hemming and hawing I decided NOT to pack my running gear and brave the other side of the street while we’re across the pond. Mostly because we ran out of space. I’m back on a Wednesday night and have every intention of jumping right back in. And probably embracing the suck for about 2 weeks while I get back in shape.
Preparing For Our No Spend Month
In order to really execute the No Spend Month we needed to have a plan. This started by creating a list of things we could and could not spend money on. Behold!
Necessary
Today is a day for giving. We’re having a completely donated wedding, which you’ll hear about later, and it is TMI Thursday. But first. We all need to head ourselves over the Red Cross to donate $5 to the Haitian relief effort. I mean you want to talk about a horrible HORRIBLE tragedy. Lil Bee reports that the majority of Haiti’s population lives in poverty, so your donation will go really far. I’ll keep reminding us to give even after CNN gets a new story.
Our Neighbors are Terrifying
We all remember the horrible disaster of I-hate-yougate which involved our upstairs neighbors. Well, turns out they are the tip of the crazy iceberg that is our apartment building. Meet the remaining neighbors:
- The noisiest couple in the world: Living directly above us, this couple and their {really ugly} greyhound wear 790 lbs lead boots only in their home. Apparently, from the sounds of it, they rearrange their furniture every evening upon returning from work, have super duper loud sex at 10:30 pm {and am if you were interested} and in person are relatively unfriendly.
- The recluse: Living downstairs, across the way from our new bffs, this neighbor has NEVER been spotted by casa LNRB. However, we have an excellent account of nasty notes left for things like untimed laundry and door slamming {le sigh}
- The Awkwards: Living across the hall from us are Mr. Awkward and his family of 3. He awkwardly asked me the other day if my dog barked all the time. He also has scared our new friend neighbor S, half to death.
And that is all of them. Oh that scaring half to death thing with the Awkwards…? Here’s the story:
Meet S.
Direct downstairs coupled neighbor extrodinare! MB and he are in BOYLOVE. It’s amazing. I digress.
So a few weeks ago, MB came to pick me up from le metro and produced a note, in J {S’s love}’s handwriting that said:
We have your personal belongings and are holding them for ransom
SWEET! I thought. They stole something out of our apartment the last time they were here and now this will be a fun game! What can we steal of THEIRS?! I begged MB.
Out of the Office
Yesterday I had every intention of updating so there would be tons of things for you to read while I am away for the next week. But we accidentally had the most fun little get together ever at our house last night.
That was to sort of honor this little guy. My apologies. Have a great week and I’ll be back to share tons of goodness next Monday.
Hokie Golf Today!
Don’t miss me too much today friends, but I’m in Richmond, VA supporting the Hokie Golf Tournament. And so should you be. With $2! (www.hokiegolf.com)
Wants!
As someone who just proclaimed I’m uninterested in material possessions here is my list of things that I am absolutely DYING to own.
- A Cricut. Oh the beautiful cards I could make!
- A Polaroid camera. Why do their pictures always look so much more romantic/fabu?
- A raw silk bolero. ‘Nuff said.
I’ll stop there.
A Homemade Week: Day 3.5
After scarfing down the bbQ chicken pizza, MB still needed som nutrients. He was having a surgical procedure on his belly and couldn’t have food after midnight — so I kept pumping him full of healthy KCals to avoid being too hungry the next morning. I made him a delightful and easy smoothie!

Poor Wife & Blog
One would think that with the wedding wrapped, I would be all about my new life blog. And I am. But to me the wedding is still happening in my brain. And until that last recap is recapped with pro pictures, Bride and Blog is my main priority. I also want to carefully craft the things I say to you all here because this blog will be a more personal reflection of ME rather than ME and our WEDDING. Big difference. Some things to look forward to:
- LNRB embarks on some soul searching that will hopefully result in a career she can live with.
- Thoughts on having and raising offspring.
- My religious beliefs and their not so steady evolution.
- Cooking, eating, baking and restauraunts.
- Book reviews.
- Travel recaps.
- And all other things newlyweds are up to.
What is your favorite after wedding blog?
