W&B Loves: The Shopping Stories

I have a lot of problems.  I tend to overeat liquid cheese, I’m a procrastinator to the Nth degree and I looooooooooooooove to shop.  It’s not quite a shopaholic obsession as I manage to pay my bills on time and don’t shop in lieu of say, paying the rent but I like to do it.  A lot.

To feed said obsession, and to help those of us that are prone to fashion failures, there’s a new girl in town {not really that new in town, she’s just new to blogging} that help unforutnates like me know where and what to find to look all sorts of fabulous.  Please meet Stef from The Shopping Stories.

sorry for the awful screen grab

I particularly enjoy the What I Would Wear pieces because most often that’s what I would wear, too.  If I didn’t shop off the sale rack at Target and out of my grandmother’s closet.

Do you have a favo new fashion blogger friend?  I’d love to hear from them, too!

Conspicuously Consuming

There are lots of stories to tell you, like how I almost got in a fight with the airline we flew out on, like the whole airline, every single employee and the CEO, and the captains.  Or how I sat in the San Jose International Airport and sobbed hysterically for an hour for absolutely no reason.  Or how I just {like literally 2 hours ago} saw every available apartment in the Silicon Valley.  And loved them all.

But that’s not what we’re here to talk about.

We’re here to talk about all the things that I want to buy.

I’m such a jerk.

Fall Fashion Failure: Piece 5

Half way there!

On a trip to the blood bank {more on that later} I was so freaking freezing that I forced MB into Ann Taylor loft {armed with my coupon from my last purchase} to try to find me something that fit, was on my list and not 100 million dollars.  Found!

I love the military style, the coat weight {it’s heavy but not wool — so totally fall appropriate} the color is great {not black, not flashy} and the belt!  Love!

Did you get a new fall jacket?  What’s it look like?

Fall Fashion Failure: Piece Two, Three and Four

I found this sweater dress in my closet this past weekend, completely neglecting all the while to remember that I had purchased it before I fell out of love with my current wardrobe.  To wit!

Fall Fashion Failure: Piece One

As you recall, I went hog wild this weekend and tried to fluff up my wardrobe with some classic, timeless, essential pieces.  This attempt was in a word, fail.  I got a cold from my husband and was in a general bad mood this weekend.  We went to Macy’s with my shopping pass as well as DSW, Target and Marshalls.  While I found things I liked everywhere nothing was speaking to me or my wallet.  Rather than give you all the gore — I will give you what I actually successfully found.  Essential # 4 a slouchy sweater.

Fall Fashion Failure Part II

I got a lot of hate mail about claiming 10 and only giving 5 so without further delay, shall we get on with the remaining 5 things I’m going to go buy for myself this weekend?

Fall Fashion Failure Part I

Over the course of the last 9 months I’ve lost myself an appreciable amount of weight.  This means, that as I’m nearing the one year mark of my lifestyle rehab journey, the clothes I wore BEFORE this all happened look a tad frumpy.  While they still fit {read they are not falling off me} mostly because I was too destitute to buy a whole new wardrobe when I was large and in charge, I do not show up to my job looking or feeling pretty, despite the compliments my husband liberally executes upon our departure every morning.

In short — I am going shopping this weekend.  And it is about time!
