Pre train: Xmas Eve

Yesterday I ran the last of my 16 week pre train program. I was in eastern PA and despite the recent warm weather courtesy of global climate change friends it was colder than I could handle.
Therefore I came in a little short of my 45 minute target.

2012: The year of the marathon?

Mmm K. So when last we left off, I was doing ridiculous things like declaring New Media to be my version of being on a SEAL team and generally trying to quit blogging.

I want to be clear.  I meant all of it.

Except maybe the blogging part.

Well the lady blogging part.

I’m back and I’m back with avenegence so I can start one of the most annoying forms of blogging in the WORLD:  RUNNER BLOGGING.

Princess Miles: 4 — Uh Oh

Recently, I came back to my Princess Miles training with reckless abandon after giving myself 7 days off.  I strapped into my sneakers and was off for 4 miles, completing the circuit in 37:45.  Totally solid, though we’re not setting any personal records by any means.  This mini-triumph can and does only mean one thing.

I am going to be in a world of hurt on the next run.

Princess Miles: 3 & FAIL

Never ever buy something from WalMart and assume it to live up to any, even simple expectations.

Yesterday I ran 3 Princess Miles on a new route that took me past the Hirshorn Museum.  I lurve LURVE DC in the fall and it was a gorgeous day for some Princess miles.  Unfort, the day before  had been an off day and my first PMs back are always rough, so my lungs were screaming and my legs were aching.  And my body was trying to react to this new route.

No matter!  I had my new WalMart gadget.

Princess Miles: 3+5

This weekend, while in Jtown, I ran the back half of the pretrain, the 3 and 5 Princess Miles.  Three miles around my neighborhood is no big deal. 1.5 down, 1.5 back.  Whatever.  What I totally disregarded is that there are som MONSTOROUS hills in la hometown del Wife and Blog and despite it being the dead of night when I ran, I was sweating like a not-so-pricess beast and my hammies were totally screaming.

As part of my .5 marathon training, and to complete part of my Day Zero project, I’ve signed myself up for the Wolf Trap Foundation 5K for the arts!

I absolutely adore doing 5Ks and I’m super pumped to be doing one for a great cause.

Do you like signing up for and running races?

Princess Miles

In an attempt to keep to my schedule, and keep you all deliciously informed of my life, I’ve decided to chart and report on my mileage in the training program, couch to 5 k, in prep for the Disney Princess Half Marathon.  Hooray!  I can’t decide whether it will be more annoying if I post every day that I run versus every week’s results, so we’ll give the first week, the pre train a shot at the everyday recap.

My mileage for this race will obviously be measured in and refered to as Princess Miles because I am in fact a Princess in training!
